Elegoo announced the new Saturn 4 in 2 different versions, the standard Saturn 4 and the Saturn 4 Ultra. The Saturn 4 Ultra was available in our lab and resin 3D-printing parameters for the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra can be found in the link. For extreme accurate parts we advise to also set shrinkage and offset parameters. Sometimes it is challenging to 3D-print with composite photopolymer resins. Especially with the Saturn 4 Ultra we have limited parameters for lifting speed or distance. We managed to get Liqcreate Composite-X resin to run, but have not published it under the regular settings list because we need you to read this first. A bit of extra attention and caution to work with composite resin on the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra.
First of all, set the printer to slow print speed for composite 3D-printing resin. You can do this in the Saturn 4 Ultra printer menu. Now we have only tested small and medium parts. When the room/resin is cold, it can happen that the printer says that it detects “foreign matter detected, please troubleshoot”. here it gets a bit crazy, because Composite-X is a quite thick liquid at room temperature. The Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra printer thinks that there is some plastic leftover from the previous build. To print you either have to warm the resin gently. Or the second option is to over-rule. When over-ruling you have to be very sure that everything is clean and that it only detects the resin.

3D-pringint parameters for Composite-X resin on the Saturn 4 Ultra
If you are taking all these things on consideration and need to print small and medium parts, then these settings can work:
Resin | Layer thickness | Exposure time (seconds) | Base layer /transition layers | Base layer exposure | Speed | Waiting mode | Rest time per step (seconds) |
Composite-X | 100 µm | 7,5 | 2 / 10 | 80 | Slow | Resting Time | 2,0/0/0,5 |
50 µm | 6,0 | 2 / 10 | 70 | Slow | Resting Time | 2,0/0/0,5 |

Composite-X
Liqcreate Composite-X is an extremely rigid and high performance reinforced nano-micro composite resin for SLA, DLP & LCD / MSLA in the range of 385 – 420nm. Perfect for rapid tooling, wind tunnel testing, medical modeling and industrial applications.
Liqcreate Composite-X is one of the stiffest and strongest material available in the market. It has a flexural modulus over 9000 MPa and a flexural strength of 150 – 170 MPa. The material can be used after UV-post curing, or the properties can be boosted with a thermal cure. This material has features like excellent chemical resistance, high strength and high stiffness.
