During the summer of 2024 Elegoo has announced a successor in the Mars series. The new Mars 5 and Mars 5 Ultra were announced. With previous printer releases Elegoo would make the Ultra slightly fancier, or slightly faster. So mostly minor changes. With this new release they used a higher resolution LCD screen in the Mars 5 Ultra (9K) vs. the Mars 5Â (4K). This is an odd move as the Mars 3 used a 4K screen while the Mars 4 was already upgraded to a 9K screen. See the full printer comparison below. The Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra (9K edition) has a build volume of 153,36 x 77,76 x 165 mm , with its 9K LCD screen this results in a pixel size of 18 microns.
