When 3D-printing dental models with removable dies, it can happen that the removable die sits too tight or too loose. When developing printing parameters for the Asiga printer, we programmed it for Liqcreate dental resins, to a level that is acceptable for most dental technicians. If you want to have a thigher removable die, or extra loose, it is possible. by changing the settings in the Asiga composer you can change it.
How to change when a removable die for a dental model is too tight or loose when using an Asiga resin 3D-printer?
There is an easy fix to change how tight or loose the removable die for a dental model is on an Asiga Printer. By loading your model in the Asiga Composer and choosing your Liqcreate resin profile as usual. After preparing the model, go to build. in the advanced parameter section you can open it to see more parameters. Halfway the list you can find XY compensation. This setting creates more or less space around the model, making the removable die sit tighter or loose. For Liqcreate Dental Model Pro Beige it is set to -0,010 mm by default. If the default settings generate too tight removable dies, change it to a lower number, like -0,020mm. Rry in small steps as this will have a big influence on part accuracy. If the default settings generate a too loose removable die for your dental model, then increase the number to 0 or +0,010mm. Again in small steps as an over-shoot is easy to make.
